throwing out ideas how to make sure CG is a success, your other customers are successful, and I am successful

Marc,

I have been subscribing to every discussion that is public- and I have been learning a lot just reading other people's discussions.

Building on this, I wonder do you all have a "users group"?

My company is getting ready to create a simple set of plans like Gold, Silver, and Bronze for subscriptions (Currently we just have a Beta free plan).

I wonder if a "users group" would be a way to pass information freely? I'd like my programmer to have a community that he can draw on for what did and did not work for others.

I want to implement our plans as "close to the right way" as possible the first time. I also am beginning to worry once I commit our company to your product versus say Amazon Flexible Payments- for better or worse my company and yours are stuck together so to speak.

Once we are stuck together- its in both our interests to deliver the best payment system integration to my customers. Now my business may fail b/c its a dumb business idea. But the other piece I see is that my business could suffer if I implement CG poorly or if CG does not build up enough customers to support your business model.

You all seem like a young start up company and I like your support. My company is a fledgling start up as well and I want to minimize my risk. If not a user group, then do you have any other suggestions how I can be making sure that I am using CG most effectively?

thanks

Oh I am in Austin, TX.

Do you have customers in Austin, TX that might be interested in a Austin user group?

Interesting question. I suppose that the effectiveness of your implementation ultimately depends on your development team. Each application has a different set of requirements so there is no hard and fast "correct" way to implement an integration. My advice to your dev team is to remain active on this support forum in asking questions about what is best in certain situations. This is the user group. Unfortunately right now there are only a few people active on it. We hope there will be more in the future as CG becomes more ubiquitous.

I wouldn't worry about the viability of CG. This system was created to help startups like yours get to market quicker and to revenue stage with as little pain as possible. The CG parent company, SproutBox, is in the business of investing in startups. To date, SB has 11 portfolio companies. If CG didn't work, all of those companies would fail. No one is going to let that happen.

If you want to describe your integration implementation in detail, we'd be happy to evaluate your processes and make recommendations if needed.

Thanks Marc. Good to know that SB has 11 portfolio companies using CG.

We will work with you to evaluate our integration plan when we have a plan.

We set up a free beta plan and it is working great. Now we are working on the paid plans to offer.
