Is CheddarGateway a good option if I don't have a merchant account?
Hello,
I'm trying to wrap my head around CheddarGateway and so far it's been hard to find thorough information on how it actually works.
- For example, I'd like to know if by signing up for
CheddarGateway I get a merchant account that's connected with my
bank account?
- Our company is based in EU, Romania -- is there a list of
accepted countries/banks?
- What are the fees and commissions when using
CheddarGateway?
- How does CheddarGateway work with V.A.T.?
Thanks, I'm looking forward to get things moving! :)

You must have a merchant account before you have a CheddarGateway account.
Unfortunately we don't have much experience in supporting Romanian merchants.
Zero setup, $20/mo, $0.15/transaction. This includes cardholder data storage vault.
There's an article about that: http://support.cheddargetter.com/kb/operational-how-tos/vat-support

Also, we will soon be supporting paypal payments. See if you can sign up for a business account: https://www.paypal.com/us/mrb/pal=7Z4VVPMXQMPZ2. I don't know if they support Romanian merchants.

Hi Marc,
Just letting you know that CloudFlare is very interested in PayPal payments. The pay with a bank account option is a huge consideration for customers overseas.

Sounds great, Damon -- We'll be notifying our current customers about the feature via email in the coming days/weeks.
