Available without a gateway?

We use PayPal's gateway to bill some customers. Others pay by paper-check or ACH.
Can you software be used to track all of these payments?
I'm really hoping to get a handle on our subscriptions...but I need a "mixed-mode" tool.

    Some merchants use "free" pricing plans to track customers who are bill externally. Since the actual billing is done outside CheddarGetter, you continue to manage is outside of CG. If you setup a gateway, you can begin charging via credit card within CG and migrate customers over time.
