Hello CheddarGetter staff!
I'm interested in using your product for my web application. And i have a couple of questions about the doodad tracked item.
Reading the description, that's exactly what I need, I'll be charging my clients an yearly fee and then a monthly fee every time they use a certain feature in my application. If they use that feature 6 times in a month, I want to charge them 6 times the overage amount of the doodad.

My questions are:
How do I let CheddarGetter know how many times my client has used the feature?
Is it enough to add one doodad item to my pricing plan (with quantity set to zero)?

Thank you in advance for your support.
Greetings.

Ignacio.

    Hello Ignacio,

It sounds like you've found a good solution in CheddarGetter! I'd be happy to answer your questions.

How do I let CheddarGetter know how many times my client has used the feature?

To do this, you would use the API (or update customer's tracked items in the GUI). With the API, you can add an item, remove an item, or set an item quantity. This gives you complete control and allows your app to automatically update customer info when they use tracked features on your site.

Is it enough to add one doodad item to my pricing plan (with quantity set to zero)?

It sounds like that would do it! If you want CG to track the total number of doodads ever used, set the 'Monthly' value to 'No.' Otherwise, 'Yes,' will track for the current billing cycle.

    Hope this helps,
    Dean
