Trial without a credit card

We'd like to offer a trial to our product without the customer adding a credit card. We urge trial users to enter a card during the trial period. If they do, their subscription will continue. If they never enter a card, their trial ends and the subscription remains in a 'trial ended' state.

How would we approach this in Cheddar Getter?

Thanks!

Hi Bob -- This is no problem with CheddarGetter. You can even use the Bill Reminder email template to help with the communication.

That sounds great. But I'm missing something. If I create a product with a free trial, the customer must provide a credit card on the hosted form. If I change the settings not to require credit cards, then the customer update screen does not provide a means to enter a credit card.

    Thanks

I might have stumbled upon the answer.

You can instruct the update page to auto expand the payment area by passing in the method param. Just append &method=cc to the update link.
