Transaction records for deleted users
When we delete a user on our system, their record is also deleted in Cheddar which skews our subscription metrics and reports. Is there a way to retrieve those records for previous subscribers?

Hi Elina,
When a customer is deleted their record is permanently removed from our system, so we can't retrieve their data. If you'd like to keep a customer record in Cheddar but deactivate their subscription, I'd suggest canceling customers instead of deleting them. Canceled customers are not billed, but their data will still be counted toward your subscription metrics and reports in Cheddar.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the reply Meghan.
Is there any way we can get a report of our past subscriptions even without the user's information to get some metrics?

Hi Elina,
All the subscription data is tied to the customer record in Cheddar, so when you delete customers you delete all their subscription information as well. You can pull a report on canceled customers here, but we won't be able to retrieve subscription data related to customers who have been deleted.
However, you might try taking a look at your Assembly payment processing account. In accordance with PCI compliance standards for payment processors, Assembly doesn't allow automatic deletion of customer and transaction records. While they won't have subscription data, they might at least have records of transactions for customers who have been deleted from Cheddar.
