Hi Ken,
Sorry to be slow responding to you! Somehow this message got caught in our spam filter last week and I just found it this morning.
The billing schedule for tracked items (used for metered billing) aligns with the pricing plan that the tracked items are associated with, so the metered product is billed and processed at the same time as the subscription. For example, if you have a pricing plan that bills customers a base rate of $25 for their subscription on the 3rd of each month and you have one tracked item associated with that pricing plan, the tracked item will be billed on the same invoice as the base rate for the subscription on the 3rd of each month. If you haven't seen it already, I'd recommend taking a look at our Pricing Plan Basics Knowledge Base article. It has information about using tracked items and quite a few examples of all the different billing models you can use with CheddarGetter.
It might also be helpful for you to know that CG has one time invoice functionality. You can issue an API call for a one time invoice that will bill the customer immediately for an amount that you choose. You can find more information about the parameters associated with that call in our API Documentation.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Meghan
Thank you . That was helpful. The one time billing is a nice feature .
I have been working through a few products setups with CG so I know my way
around better now.
Question:
I am looking for a referral of a Ruby on Rails developer to build out our
billing interface with CG can you make a couple of referrals ?

Hi Ken,
Chatted with our team and they recommend Anthony Leon. Anthony is freelance Ruby on Rails developer who has some experience with the CheddarGetter platform. If you'd like to get in touch with him, his email is [email blocked]. We reached out to him to make sure he has some time available for a project and it sounds like he does. He's aware that you may be in contact with him soon, but feel free to mention that we referred you.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with!

Hi Meghan
I have spoken to the Anthony Leon the referral you provided. Thank you, he
was an awesome help.
He did point out that we should consult with Marc Guyer before we begin
development.
The various plans I am looking to bill are all very doable within the
framework of the Cheddargetther API with the exception of my Prepaid
pay-as-you-go-plan.
The issue of concern is as follows;
With my Prepaid pay-as-you-go-plan. I want to take an initial deposit of
say $50. As billable events occur in our app it will deplete the deposit.
At a set recharge level of say $15 a bill / charge is processed on the
user's credit card to refill the deposit back to the preselected refill
level ($50).
Anthony is not aware of any existing functionality in the Cheddargetter API
to support a depleting balance plan.
The Questions
By no means, should the apparent lack of support for a depleting balance
plan be taken as a knock on ChedderGetter. It needs to be said that the
more I dig into ChedderGetter the more I feel this is a far
superior product with a great team of professionals backing it up. One I
am sure to trust for my billing process.

Hi Ken -- You can use a Tracked Item to remember customers' prepaid quantity and use one-time invoices to charge for it at-will. If the "initial deposit" is part of the initial subscription invoice, you can add the prepayment as a custom charge on that invoice so it can be one transaction. There's some documentation on this concept in the Pricing Plan Basics "Prepaid Credits" example.
