Simulating dunning
Is there a way to simulate the dunning process for testing purposes?

Hi Ashley -- Yes, you can use a combination of error simulation along with your dunning settings to create an imminent auto-cancellation situation.
For example, to test a declined recurring payment, use a decline code (e.g. 95000). Then, cause the current invoice to transact immediately by overriding the next bill date. You can do this via the UI or the API. In the UI, click 'edit subscription', then enter today's date in the 'next bill date' box. The transaction will be attempted immediately and will be declined. Repeat that until the auto-cancellation is imminent (according to your setting for number of retries). You then need to allow CG's recurring engine to pick up the subscription for processing and execute the cancellation. The recurring engine runs every 3 hours.
If you have a specific dunning event you'd like to test, I can offer further detail. Let me know if you have questions along the way.
