Many Gateway Errors
I get several gateway errors each day. 1. Many say declined, but it seems weird to me that a $6.99 payment would be declined a month after it was approved. 2. And what is a PayPal gateway error? 3. How could a card number work fine one month then next month be an invalid card #?
422:6004 Invalid Card #
502:3000 PayPal Gateway Error
422:6000 Declined

Hi Derreck --
This occurs when the cardholder is issued a new card by the issuing bank. That happens more often than you'd think.
I'd like to examine this further. Can you give me more details on this one?
This is a standard declined payment. CheddarGetter displays all info we have about the reason for the decline. Usually that's simply nothing. That's because the card issuer only responds to the gateway with a generic declined code. This is typical and usually simply means that the customer's account is over it's limit or there is otherwise insufficient funds. The only way to know why a card was declined is for the customer to contact their card issuer and ask.
