Broken direct links suddenly (related to new getcheddar.com domain?)

Hello - as of some time this week (I believe), many of our direct links to CG pages (such as from our internal admin portals, links which have been working for years) are no longer working properly. Sometimes they go to the proper place, and other times they get caught and redirected to a "getcheddar.com" landing page that seems to require logging in again or some extra steps.

Example of link that no longer works consistently:
https://cheddargetter.com/admin/customers/get/code/CUSTCODE_1234/pr...

If you have recently updated your URL routing, please advise how we should update our direct links.
Is it as simple as changing "cheddargetter.com" to "getcheddar.com"?

Unfortunately as the behavior is not consistent (sometimes these links work properly), we are unable to accurately test any changes ourselves.

Thank you!

Hi Dan -- Good to hear from you! We recently made a change to redirect our public traffic to our new domain getcheddar.com. Despite extensive testing, we didn't catch this scenario. We did not anticipate what you're currently experiencing.

It's always been the case that if you're not currently authenticated, Cheddar redirects you to a login form. Upon logging in, you're redirected to your originally desired location (but now at the new domain). So, now, when you auth you're on the new domain in the app, too. To clarify:

    1. If you're not currently authenticated and go here:
      cheddargetter.com/admin/customers...
    2. ... your brower will be redirected here:
      cheddargetter.com/?fwd=%2Fadmin%2Fcustomers...#login
    3. ... a second immediate redirect will then send your browser to the same location at the new domain:
      www.getcheddar.com/?fwd=%2Fadmin%2Fcustomers...
    4. ... you're then presented with the login form. Upon logging in, you're redirected to the location in (3).

Once you're authenticated, you now have a good session, but only for the www.getcheddar.com domain. As long as that session stays active, you can keep going to www.getcheddar.com locations without having to auth again. However, if you go to any cheddargetter.com location (i.e., one of your direct links), the above four-step process starts again and you have to re-authenticate. That's clearly not ideal and unintended. We'd like to keep any direct links to the old domain working for everyone without requiring re-authentication and I'm sure we can fix it. We should be able to get a patch released for this in a day or two. We'll let you know when that's done. In the meantime, you can continue to auth every time you click one of your direct links or you can change your direct links to go to the www.getcheddar.com domain.

    Hi Dan,

Just following up to let you know that Marc made some adjustments that will allow old direct links to continue working on the cheddargetter.com domain, so you shouldn't have to re-authenticate to access those links in the future. Please let me know if there's anything else we can help you with!
