Hi,

since you already added PayPal support, what about adding Moneybookers (soon being Skrill) as well. Moneybookers supports an almost identical feature like PayPal's preapproved payment, but they call it Pay-on-demand instead.

Why support Moneybookers as an additional gateway?

  • It's as simple to get an account as with PayPal
  • Far better reputation as a payment gateway for businesses, PayPal is know to freeze accounts now and then when they "think" something dodgy is going on
  • Other than PayPal they support a lot of local payment options like:
    • Cheque (yes people actually do that)
    • Online Bank Transfer
    • Sofortüberweisung
    • Maestro
    • etc.

A list of all payment options can be found here (listed below Upload Funds): https://www.moneybookers.com/app/help.pl?s=fees

As mentioned before the feature necessary is called:
Pay-on-demand

Basically the process is the same as with PayPal from a user perspective:

  1. User chooses moneybookers as payment method on Hosted Payment Form
  2. Customer gets redirected to Moneybookers gateway (redirection includes merchant id, purpose, amounts etc.)
  3. Customer authorizes Merchant for Pay-on -demand
  4. Moneybookers sends IPN message to the url specified in the redirect request (this should be a Cheddargetter server). This notification contains the necessary information to execute payments in the future without further confirmation from the customer
  5. Customer gets redirected to the Url specified in the redirect request (Hosted Payment Forms or actual website of merchant etc.)

The documentation for creating a relationship between merchant and customer is described in Section 3.5 "Pay-on-demand":
http://www.moneybookers.com/merchant/en/moneybookers_gateway_manual...

The documentation to actually issue a charge based on the previously gained authorization from the customer is described in Section 5 "Pay-on-demand Interface":
http://www.moneybookers.com/merchant/en/automated_payments_interfac...

I hope you find this suggestion helpful, I really think many merchants could benefit from Moneybookers as additional gateway provider .

    Hi Nikolas,

We are currently looking into Moneybookers as an option, and will consider implementing it in the future.

    Thanks,
    Adam
