Hi,
Well first of all, we're built primarily for recurring payments, where Braintree was built primarily as an online payment processor for shopping carts (they recently added recurring payments).
Braintree also requires you to use their in-house merchant account, instead of giving you the option to find your own best deal.
Their pricing is quite a bit higher as well:
