Hello Cheddar Getter team!

We are excited to start doing business with you soon and very busy getting everything ready to get started with Payvision as merchant account and you as gateway and we have a few questions we hope you can answer:

1) Do you confirm that Payvision is the inly merchant account we can use with you as a gateway, because we are UK-based?

2) Can you handle/be in charge of the following:

  • maintenance of a negative cardholder database (i.e. a database where a record of credit cards that have a chargeback, credit or negative history and all transactions are checked against this database for possible matches.)

  • velocity controls (i.e, a limitation of the number of times the credit card can be used in a given day/week/month, or a limitation of the amount spent, etc.)

  • conditions under which our customers/users are allowed to exceed the above limits - maximum number of times and maximum purchase amount a customer/user can access

  • management of our retrievals and chargebacks

3) do you use:

  • Card Verification Codes (CVC), Address Verification (AVS)?, Verified by VISA?, Mastercard SecureCode,

-4) Do you store credit card data? Is it encrypted? If yes, where is the data stored?

Thank you so much for getting back to us on that.

We are looking forward to working with you!

We're currently finalizing support for PayPal Website Payments Pro. Once that's complete, it will be another option for UK merchants. It should be available by the end of next week.

maintenance of a negative cardholder database (i.e. a database where a record of credit cards that have a chargeback, credit or negative history and all transactions are checked against this database for possible matches.)

    CheddarGateway can do this.

velocity controls (i.e, a limitation of the number of times the credit card can be used in a given day/week/month, or a limitation of the amount spent, etc.)

    CheddarGateway can do this.

conditions under which our customers/users are allowed to exceed the above limits - maximum number of times and maximum purchase amount a customer/user can access

    CheddarGateway can do this.

management of our retrievals and chargebacks

This is a process dictated by the merchant service provider.

Card Verification Codes (CVC), Address Verification (AVS)?, Verified by VISA?, Mastercard SecureCode,

    CVC, yes. AVS, yes.

Verified by VISA, Mastercard SecureCode no. This functionality is not supported by CG for several reasons. The workflow significantly increases complexity, reduces conversions and contrary to popular believe, does not increase security.

    4) Do you store credit card data? Is it encrypted? If yes, where is the data stored?

No, credit card data is stored at the gateway.

NOTE: all of the above answers are specific to a CheddarGateway setup and not a PayPal Website Payments Pro solution.
