Working on updating our app to use CG tracked items. Have a question. Is there a log in CG that reveals individual tracked item calls/updates?

There isn't but I'm curious why you ask. Would you have an operational
    use for such a log?

Was coming from thinking on testing. So as we are working the feature we can see that it ticked in particular when we have a few people hitting it around the same time for basic performance testing of our call to the API amongst other features - thought it might be useful to be able to see a log to be able to assess the result in more detail. The only indicator we had now is the aggregate total which can suffice. Was thinking that it might help if there ever was a dispute however thinking on this further, if there is a issue on your side, then likely tracked item log on your side would not be a good source to investigate.

Also, I have a questions about the "is periodic" feature. I think I had a misunderstanding. Am I correct now that this feature does not have anything else to do with amount billed. Whether it is marked or not, the customer will only see a line item and bill for tracked items for the given billing period?

If so, I assume the invoices will detail the totals for that period for the tracked item separately?

For some reason I thought this needed to be checked in order to tell the app only to bill for the quantity of that specific billing period and clear afterwords.

"Is Periodic" is actually very simple yet unfortunately not so clear in it's name. If a tracked item "is periodic", CG will reset the subscription's quantity of the item back to zero at the beginning of each billing period. If not, CG will never automatically do anything to item quantity. In other words, if an item "is periodic" and the customer has a quantity of 12 for that item and each item costs $0.50, they will see a line item on their invoice for 12 of item X with a total of $6 for that line item. Then, the quantity balance starts at zero again.

Marc, thanks and Happy New Year.

To make sure I have it straight if an item is NOT "is periodic" and the customer has a quantity of 12 for that item and each item costs $0.50, they will see a line item on their invoice for 12 of item X with a total of $6 for that line item. Then, the quantity balance continues from where it was?

In other words is the "is periodic" only affecting the count on the interface or does it impact monthly billing?

    That is correct.

The "is periodic" setting only affects the customers' item quantity. So, using your example, if the item IS "is periodic", the customer is billed for and sees a line item of 12 of item X with a total of $6. Then CG sets the customer's current item quantity for item X to zero. Upon the following billing date, the customer will be billed for whatever is "used" since the last bill.

So, to answer your question, yes, the count is set to zero at the beginning of each period.
