Using Authorize.net merchant account with default CG payment gateway
Hi,
How do we link the default CG payment gateway for using our Authorize.net merchant account? Are there any benefits if we choose to use CG merchant account instead?
Thanks,
Yashu

Hi Yashu -- Choose Authorize.Net in the dropdown here:
https://cheddargetter.com/admin/setup/billing-solution
Then, activate your CG account here:
https://cheddargetter.com/admin/setup/payment
Once that's complete, you will be able to add your Authorize.Net account credentials in CG here:

Hi Marc,
In CG is it possible to accept payment by credit card without taking a merchant account and instead using a Paypal account?
What would be the difference for us if we wish to do that in the beginning because I think we need an MA only if our payment volume is more than USD 3,000.
The following link lists that:
"Traditional direct credit card acceptance requires a merchant account and gateway. This solution is ideal for companies that are making more than $3,000 per month. At that scale they provide lower transaction costs, and allow greater customization of your customers' checkout experience. Using a merchant account with CheddarGetter will upgrade you to our Blowing Up plan. CheddarGetter's own gateway, CheddarGateway, is included in the Blowing Up plan."
There is an option to select Direct CC payment which gives option to define the merchant account but the Paypal Payment Pro also has the option for direct CC payment.
Can we accept credit card payments using a Paypal account and not using a merchant account and if we do are there any limitations? Also will we need to use the blownup plan for accepting credit card payments using Paypal Pro?

Hi Yashu,
Yes this is possible, however you'd need a PayPal Pro account to accept credit cards, which means having an address in US/UK/Canada. PayPal Pro is essentially a merchant account itself, with underwriting done by a third party.
Yes, but like I said earlier PayPal Pro account (not standard PayPal business). This account will allow you to bill for credit card transactions in CG as well as peer to peer payments. I've heard PayPal underwriters are a bit more inquisitive when large spikes in volume happen, but other than that I'm not sure there are significant limitations.
Yes, because you'll be processing credit cards 'Blowing Up' is required with PayPal Pro.
Cheers,
Dean
