Zero out specific tracked items for all customers?
We have a major change coming on April 1, and we want to zero out all of a few specific tracked items (3 of 10) for all of our active customers to address this.
Is there any way to do this easily?

The way to do that with the API is setting the quantity per customer. Whether or not you consider that "easy" is another question.
