I want to get started...

Hello,

I currently have a merchant account and a payment gateway which I use to process my website payments.

The problem is that my payment gateway doesn't support recurring billing?

Can CheddarGetter help me solve this?

Can I integrate CheddarGetter with my existing payment gateway? I am using Tranzila (in Israel).

If not, can I use CheddarGateway instead? Does that mean I will need a new merchant account? Can I just use my existing one?

Thanks,

Saar...

Hi Saar -- I'm unfamiliar with Tranzila. We do not have plans to integrate their gateway. It's likely that their gateway isn't even technologically compatible. It's possible that we could support you on the CheddarGateway. Which type of merchant account do you have? With which bank?

    Hi Craig,

Our bank is called Leumi (http://english.leumi.co.il/)

I'm not sure what type of merchant account we have.

What do I ask in order to find out?

    Thanks,

    Saar...

We're not familiar with Leumi. I do know that CreditGuard is http://creditguard.co.il/ compatible with the CheddarGateway. I'd suggest contacting them to see if you can setup an account with them. Be sure to say that you'll be using CheddarGateway as the gateway. CheddarGateway uses Network Merchants (NMI) gateway technology to connect to CreditGuard.

But CreditGuard is a gateway. They're a competitor to Tranzila.

Isn't a merchant account what you open with your bank? Am I missing something?

    I thought it goes:

Merchant Account (i.e. bank account) --> Payment gateway --> Billing mechanism (i.e. CheddarGetter)

If I open an account with CreditGuard, doesn't that overlap with CheddarGateway?

This is typically correct. However, in this case both CheddarGateway and CreditGuard are required. So the progression is:

Merchant Account --> CreditGuard --> CheddarGateway --> CheddarGetter

Wirecard is another option for ILS (and multi-currency, I believe).

Where does Wirecard fit into the chain? In the place of CreditGuard?

If I get either of these set up (and linked to a merchant account) does that mean I'm ready to start working with CheddarGateway? If so, what are the costs of CheddarGateway? So I know what my total costs are...

(I'm trying to put the puzzle together... please bare with me...)

    • Zero setup
    • $20/mo
    • $15/txn
    • Prices include PCI compliant customer data vault

(I'm trying to put the puzzle together... please bare with me...)

    No problem at all.

    $15 per transaction?

    Did I understand that right?

Regardless of the size of the charge?

    Whoops. That's $0.15/transaction.

    phew... that's much better

So I guess if I want to get started then I need to turn to CreditGuard, open a payment gateway account, have them link between my existing merchant/bank account and CheddarGateway, and then start using CheddarGetter for recurring billing.

Do I need to ask for anything specifically when opening an account with CreditGuard? Something that can talk to CheddarGateway? (i.e. some feature of my account or support for a particular technology?) Basically, what do I tell them when I sign up?

Hi Saar -- Sorry for the delay. We'll need the following information from CreditGuard to setup your CheddarGateway account:

    1. Terminal Number
    2. Username
    3. Password
    4. Currency
    5. Credit Card Types Accepted
