prepaid
Is it possible to setup a prepaid account with your system? For instance, collect a certain amount up front, then bill for usage via API on an hourly basis? When the "bank" becomes empty, the customer account is then recharged?

Yes, but it's handled in a simpler way on a recurring cycle. For example, a pricing plan could include a "level of service" for each type of resource (e.g, storage GB's). The level of service is included in the monthly fee. If they go over the included level of service in a billing cycle (e.g., month), then they can be charged for overage or upgrade to a higher plan with a higher level of service.
You could also bill for pure "usage". In this case, the pricing plan would not have a basic recurring fee. CG would simply charge them at the end of the billing cycle for the usage that occurred in that cycle.
With a prepaid model, your revenue is actually a liability until you "earn" the revenue.
