ground work for recurring billing

I am thinking about using CheddarGetter as our technology for recurring billing. I've never done this before. The startup requirements are a little fuzzy to me and just wanted confirmation that I'm taking the correct steps to get started...

(1) get merchant account (from authorize.net) (2) get payment gateway (CheddarGateway? what are my other compatible options?) (3) integrate using language-specific wrappers (python/django in this case)

    1. We can help you get the merchant account. We'll get you a better rate.
    2. We recommend the CheddarGateway ($20/mo). We set it up and support it. The only other compatible option currently is the Authorize.Net gateway ($40/mo).
