Simple Zip Code Validation
Hello,
I am trying to configure my Cheddar Gateway account to do very rudimentary AVS checking. Ideally, I'd only like to reject the transaction if and only if the zip code doesn't match.
I think I've configured my Gateway account to do that, but I was just able to create a subscription using an address with a non matching zip code.
Couple of questions:
- Do I have the right settings configured in Cheddar Gateway?
- Is this possible to do without running an authorization transaction? I can't run the authorization transaction because it shows up temporarily on some cards and I promise not to charge until after a free trial is over.
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason --
Yes, I checked your AVS settings in the gateway and they look good.
No. You must use the authorization transaction to do the AVS check.
You might consider not requiring credit card for the free trial -- I think you'll find significantly more people starting the trial. That should result in more paying customers in the end.
