Hosted Pages - Return Locations - Redirect to companyName.chargevault.com
Hi,
We embedded cheddar hosted pages to our web app through frame. After updating plan or creating customer we would like to redirect a user back to hosted page - companyName.chargevault.com. But if I add companyName.chargevault.com to return locations, redirection just doesn't work. Is it normal behaviour?
We need this functionality because by default redirection sends users back to our web site and we end up having our web site in the frame.

Hi Drew,
That's by design. If the customer returns to the hosted create page, there's a chance they could accidentally create another subscription. To avoid the redirect back to the referrer, you can set up a different return page.
It may also be possible for you to disable automatic redirects to the referrer. To do that, go to the Return Locations tab of the hosted pages configuration page in your dashboard. Uncheck the "Automatically redirect to return URL" boxes, click "Save", and then test out a sign up to confirm that the redirect is disabled. Instead of redirecting to the return URL or back to the referrer, it should stay on the hosted thank you page.
Just so you know, using iframes with hosted pages isn't a solution that's officially supported by Cheddar partially because of issues like this. Another issue we sometimes see when merchants use iFrames is that although the hosted page themselves are secure if any other part of the page where the iFrame is loaded isn't, the page may show up as unsafe in the browser, which is concerning for customers.
We recommend simply re-directing users to the hosted payment pages from your website and using custom CSS to design the page to match the look and feel of your website. If you're looking for a little more information about setting up hosted payment pages, we have a great knowledge base article about using hosted pages here.
