Alternative Customer Email
Hello,
We are a B2B SaaS company and many of our customers are asking us to send their emails to an alternative email address. For example. [email blocked] wants their customer communications sent to [email blocked]. Preferably Foo Bar would still get the communications as well. Is this possible in Cheddar?

Hi Rich,
Currently, Cheddar can only send customer communication emails to one address at a time. Sending to multiple addresses is something we might like to include in a future update, but in the meantime, we suggest that customers set up auto-forwarding rules in their email to distribute them as needed.

I'd like to expand on my previous answer a bit. Cheddar will send emails to the address associated with the customer record. If you'd like to send to an alternate email address for a customer instead of the one currently on file, you can always replace the email in the customer record with the desired address. All types of customer communication emails will then go to that address -- payment receipts, new subscription emails, and/or any others you have enabled in your Cheddar product account.
You can change the email address on file for a customer by editing their profile in the UI, or with the
customers/edit-customer
API call.If you'd like to keep a record of the customer's own email address as well, you could store it in a metadata field. Cheddar won't use this address for sending emails, but it will store this information for you, and it'll be included in the response to
customers/get
