Continued development work and credit cards
I maintain a development site that mirrors my live site, including it's need for credit card information... I would like to know if there is a development credit card number I may use for the work I do in the demo site, so that I do not have to keep charging my credit card and refunding myself?

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

On any developer account you can use the number 4111111111111111 and any expiration date in the future. However, I have never tried this on a live gateway, which is what it sounds like you are trying to do.

to use only for my development work?

Not at all. You can sign up for as many development accounts as you like.
