How can I reactivate an account without adding a credit card?

We are using the delayed bill approach for our trail users described here (http://support.cheddargetter.com/kb/pricing-plans/pricing-plan-basics). The problem is that once the bill fails we can't seem to figure out how to reactivate the account and extend the trail. In fact we can't even switch the user to a free account. What are we doing wrong?

Hi Kevin -- This isn't possible today. Once the bill date passes, CheddarGetter insists that the customer owes you for the outstanding invoice before any changes can be made. I can manually adjust an account for you if you've missed the date.

That makes sense. We have tried crediting the account balance and it still locks us out even when the account has a $0 balance on it.

Would there be a way around this with promo codes?

So far we have worked around it but it would be nice to have the option to reactivate an account.

There are three ways to work around it.

    1. Adjust the initial bill datetime before it passes.
    2. Make the initial bill free (add credits prior to the initial bill datetime).
    3. Ask us to manually adjust an account for you.

Promo codes can help with (2). Setup a promo for 100% off a subscription for one month (or more). Give the promotion to the customer prior to the initial bill datetime.
