Move from Recurly
Hi,
We're using Recurly at http://japanese.lingualift.com/ and we're looking to move elsewhere.
Could you please check out the website and answer the following questions?
-
Is it possible to move customers from Recurly to CheddarGetter, how difficult is it, and would their credit card numbers get moved also, and would their recurring subscriptions stop?
-
Is it possible for us to accept both PayPal Standard and credit cards for subscriptions payments? Unfortunately this has been impossible to do at Recurly
-
Do you support all the features we use like annual subscriptions, coupon codes, and custom invoice templates? Can we accept multiple currencies?
-
Is it possible to create users without associated credit card info? Is it possible to start a trial account within CG without CC info, and then extend it via the admin panel or the API?
-
Do you have anything comparable to http://js.recurly.com/ ?
-
Is it available, or do you plan to offer the CheddarGetter gateway in Europe, namely the UK?
I appreciate your assistance with this matter.
Best regards,
Philip Seyfi

Hi Philip --
The short answer is, yes. What payment gateway are you using with Recurly? I see that you've enabled PayFlow Pro and Standard PayPal in your CG account. Are you using PayFlow Pro? Maybe Website Payments Pro? Do you know if Recurly is storing credit cards for you or is your credit card data stored at the gateway?
It's actually pretty simple. Here's some more information on that:
http://support.cheddargetter.com/kb/getting-started-19/can-i-migrat...
You would need to export from Recurly all of the data required for CheddarGetter's import method. This should include your gateway's identifier for each customer's data record (
subscription[gatewayToken]
) if data is stored at the gateway. If Recurly is storing your cards for you, you'll need to complete card data from them. This could be difficult under the circumstances. If you must ask your customers to reenter their card information due to Recurly's data loss, CheddarGetter can facilitate that process. No, you can set the date of each customer's next bill when you import. Recurring billing will resume on that date.
Yes, you can accept both methods concurrently. Customers can freely switch between the two methods.
That's hard to say since I'm not sure of the extent of your use of Recurly's features. The answer is probably yes on all counts. Annual subscriptions: yes. Coupon codes: yes. Custom invoice templates: yes. Multiple currencies: yes.
Yes and yes.
I'm not very familiar with Recurly's js lib. The short answer is no. CheddarGetter doesn't have a js lib. You can, however, be incomplete control of your user experience when you use our API.
Yes, CheddarGetter's native gateway is available in the UK. We can even organically migrate your current customer base to the native gateway over time.
No problem. Do you mind if I make this thread public? I can remove any personally identifiable information if you'd like.
