Hello,
I need to find out if there is a way to integrate Cheddar into Quickbooks. If so, how do we go about this, and if not, is there anything that can be done to try to get that accomplished.

   Hi Lindsey,

   "Integrate" is a bit of a loaded term. Most companies that say they integrate with specific services, simply provide the ability to import customer information in both systems on signup. After that, the systems pretty much work asynchronously, which is probably not what you are looking for.

   If you give me a detailed description of the functionality you are looking for, I may be able to give a good suggestion on how it can be accomplished.

   Hi Drew, we are looking for the customers to be imported into quickbooks but they will also need to continuously update. We are looking at this to keep up with accrual information for our accounting. Let me know if there is anything we can figure out. Possibly a csv report or something showing the income.

   It is always a possibility to use our web hooks to send information as events occur in CG. For example, when there is a new sign up, we send out the New Subscription Hook that contains information about the customer and the subscription. Your hook listener(something that you would need to build) could be used to import that data into QuickBooks. A similar hooked event occurs for a transaction.

   With that said, you may be able to use a service like Zapier to make use of these hooked events without much development. Zapier essentially acts as router for the data between two services. Of course this will be limited by the complexity of your integration.

   Additionally, you can get a transactions report in a csv format for any given date range.

   Unless there is a plan to build an in depth integration using the web hooks, I would suggest looking into Zapier at least for importing customers on signup. You could use Zapier to import transaction data as well or you could just pull a csv of the transactions report.

   Hi Drew, I viewed the report "active on a paid plan” and that really is something I’m looking for but can the payment amount be included on this report?

   Hi Lindsey,

   Transactions report does have the amount listed. This report is different from the export in the customer search. It is found under Activity > Transactions or just follow this link : https://cheddargetter.com/admin/activity/revenue

   On another note, we have been researching how to use QuickBooks and Zapier together to make a comprehensive integration that will automate much of this process. We would be happy to partner with you on a project that would include our engineering team working through a fully automated solution that would meet all of your needs. This could even include the development of some new Zaps(action events in Zapier) for added functionality. Let me know if this is something you are interested in pursuing.

   Lindsey,

   There currently are zaps that work with Google Docs. However, CheddarGetter can only be the trigger event at this point. The Google Docs zaps allow you to "Create a document from plain text" and/or "Copy a document from trigger" with the trigger being an event in CG such as a new transaction, new bill reminder, subscription billable, etc.

   With that said, it seems like you have a unique solution in mind. We would be happy to consult you on any Zapier integrations you have in mind and do much of the technical leg work/evaluation regarding how to properly map the data fields from CG to accomplish your goals. This would be the most efficient path toward automating your accounting process through a Zapier integration.

   I suggest that we schedule a preliminary phone call to discuss precisely what you want the integration to look like and establish what the terms for this consultative work might look like. What does your schedule look like this week?
