using tracked Item in hosted payment page
HI,
We have a product in which we will charge per project. So If user
wants to signup for X number of projects then he should be able to
enter it in Hosted payment page. But I can not see any option to
add tracked item in hosted payment page.
Is it possible?

Hello Shahzad,
The hosted payment pages are intended for somewhat simple services and do not support our more advanced features. However, there are work-arounds and one will likely benefit your system. So, yes, it is possible. Could you please provide a bit more context?
Will you be billing upfront, or through billing periods?

Hi Dean,
Ok. We charge our user $ 40/project/month. We want to give user this option that when she signs up and then enters billing information on hosting page then she could enter No. of project she need to purchase.
This is not an advance thing. It is very basic requirment because mostly we use add-on in our plan.
This is straight forward to show add-on to user on hosted pages in chargify and recurly.
So can I use add-on (tracked item, in CG case) on hosted page.

Shahzad,
We don't support that feature in our hosted payment pages because of the flexibility of the tracked items system, among other reasons. Presenting our clients' customer's with additional GUI elements within the hosted pages comes with a large set of variables that make it extremely difficult to effectively service even a small percentage of our clients. Our goal is to provide a (1) highly flexible system that is (2) easy to use. Balancing those two halves of our goal is a delicate process. To maintain that vision we offer solutions to these types of problems in other ways.
Depending on the number of projects usually purchased by your customers, you could set up multiple pricing plans each with different recurring fee corresponding to the number of projects. This option wouldn't use tracked items at all.
Another option is to create a customer initially using our API and pass in the quantity of projects in that step. Then, send them to the update customer page to enter their payment information. For this, you would have to delay the initial invoice.
Does this help?
