We don't have any plans for a CheddarGetter supported wrapper in Java but there may be a possibility of coaxing one out of the community. We've had a bit of dialogue with an existing customer on the subject here:

David has agreed to open up his wrapper but he hasn't gotten around to it. Maybe with some prodding from you, he'll release it.
