Hi,

We are a Hong Kong based Saas startup on equity trading service. Now we are charging our customers through paypal standard.

  1. We are looking for billing solutions to give our customer more customized choice. Could you please tell us the advantage to use your service Vs. use paypal only?

  2. if we use your service and our customer do not want to create a paypal account, can he use credit card directly for recurring billing? Do we need to upgrade our palpay service to website payment Pro?

  3. What's currency do you support, do you support HKD?

  4. If we want to apply a Hong Kong merchant account, could you help us?

Thanks for the answer!

    Hi Eric,

Your best bet is to apply for a merchant account through our partners at Payvision. We have a handful of merchants in HK using our service in conjunction with Payvision, and it works well.

CheddarGetter + Payvision is much better than Paypal for a number of reasons. Primarily, CG has a ton of automation for recurring bills that Paypal does not. Plus, with a Payvision merchant account, you can accept any currency from almost any country directly through the customer's credit card, instead of forcing them to get a Paypal account.

We do not currently have any interface copy translated to languages other than English, however all of the customer-facing email templates are customizable and can be translated into any language you choose. If you wanted the sign-up/payment form to be in Chinese, you would need to create it yourself using our API.

If you would, please fill out the attached pre-check form and return it here. Then I can add our Payvision partners to this discussion and they can help you get set up.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Dear Adam,

Thanks for your information. I have registered the Blowing Up version.

Now I would like to know more about your integration with Paypal.

    1. If the user does not have a paypal account, can he use credit card to pay directly? I know the standard version can not complete this task (The user need to register a paypal account), but can website payment pro help to do the job?

    2. we hope to provide subscription plan with life of 6 and 12 months. Is there any way to implement it?

I read the link below but can not find the release date of the functionality.

    Thanks for the answer!

    Hi Eric,

Yes, you can use Paypal's Website Payments Pro to accept credit cards. I've noticed that you are also going through the Payvision application process. If you can get a Payvision account, that would be the best method for you to accept credit card transactions, as Paypal charges more.

Yes, you can provide 6 and 12 month subscriptions. You can change the duration of recursion in your Pricing Plans configuration:
    https://cheddargetter.com/admin/plans

If you need to auto-cancel the subscription after that time, you would need to handle that within your app. You could use createdDatetime for the subscription to determine if you should cancel it.

Just a heads up: most merchant account providers will not underwrite an account that plans to charge for periods longer than 3 months. This is due to the increased possibility of refunds and chargebacks as the term gets longer.

    Adam
