Question on one-time credits

We'd like to give one of our customers a 25% discount for the year.

Our first thought is to issue a one-time credit in that amount for the plan they chose, but I believe the full-credit will be applied to the customer for each billing cycle, until the credit runs out (e.g. after 3 full months out of 12).

Is there an easy way to give a one-time credit where the credit is applied through the duration of the year? In other words, in this screenshot, http://screencast.com/t/aidv7IMN1ub, if we put in a Quantity of "12" and a discount of "$3.00", would the credits apply one-at-a-time for each of the next 12 billing cycles? Or would it just apply whatever "total credit" is available to each billing cycle?

Thanks!

    This is correct.

Yes and no. You can give a recurring discount using tracked items:

However, there's no way to "stop" it automatically after 12 months. You would need to remove the item quantity manually (or via API triggered by the transaction hook, for example) after the 12th month.
