Testing integration with CG
Hi there,
Is there some way that I can get a CG pricing plan to run it's 'billing' phase before it's supposed to, for testing purposes? I'm looking at testing our team's use of CG which will include a monthly pricing plan and don't want to have to wait an entire month (or even an entire day) before seeing that everything happens as expected (bill calculation, emails sent to users, how our application deals with the results of unpaid bills etc.).
If you have any other useful hints and tips for someone testing applications using CG I'd be very interested in hearing them too. Other than the 'Error simulation' article (which looks very useful) I couldn't find much about testing integration with CG in your FAQ.
Martin.

This is actually really easy. Simply change the bill date on the subscription to today. You can do this via the GUI or the API.
In the GUI, click the edit button (little pencil) next to the subscription. In the pop up, select today's date in the next bill date override box. That will transact the current invoice immediately as if it had naturally come due.
In the API, use the
edit-subscription
call and set only thechangeBillDate
param. You can set it to the word "now".Marc Guyer closed this discussion on 19 Mar, 2012 05:07 PM.
