About PayVision, Wirecard and Payment Express for International Merchants

Hello,

I have been researching all the major recurring billing providers and it seems like Cheddar is definitely the top choice for merchants outside USA (at least for Asia), especially since Cheddar is the only one that provides their own gateway to all merchants.

My question is how reliable are those 3 companies I listed above? Is it "safe" to go with any of them? All 3 have presence in Asia (where I am) and most other parts of the world. PayVision and Wirecard both provide a merchant account, and Payment Express is gateway only but they have partnerships with banks that provide the merchant account. I prefer the former two options because I can use Cheddar's own gateway but with Payment Express I can't use Cheddar's gateway (correct me if I'm wrong).

Does anyone know what their rates are like? And are they comfortable working with new startups (i.e. how easy is it to get a merchant account with them?).

    Hi Jefri,

    We would definitely recommend Payvision in your case. They have been very good with working with startups that we send their way over the past year or so. Our account partner there is Scott Bodily, and I'd be happy to put you in touch with him.

    As for rates, those vary quite a bit depending on business/industry/location and many other factors. The best way for you to determine that is to fill out the attached pre-check form and return it here. Then I can CC Scott on this thread and he can work with you.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Thanks Adam! I was looking at one of the other threads, and someone mentioned the process or setup is like this for Wirecard:

    CheddarGetter -> CheddarGateway - > Wirecard -> Merchant Account

    Is it the same for PayVision?

    CheddarGetter -> CheddarGateway - > PayVision -> Merchant Account

    Also, is 3D Secure supported? I have no idea how to implement this but a couple of local banks here mentioned that 3D Secure is a must.

    This setup has a redundant step, the gateway. CheddarGateway and Wirecard are both "gateways".

    CheddarGetter -> CheddarGateway - > PayVision -> Merchant Account

    PayVision is the merchant account.

    CG does not and will not support 3D Secure. 3D Secure is an attempt to divert risk to the merchant at the expense of a painful customer experience which results in significantly reduced conversions. Payvision does not require it.

    Marc, if we sign up with PayVision by contacting them directly, can we still use/connect to Cheddar? We would prefer to work with them directly to get our merchant account set up because they have an office here.

    Also, according to PayVision, I have to use their gateway as well. Is that correct? So does Cheddargateway sit on top of PayVision's gateway?

    Thanks!

    You are more than welcome to contact Payvision directly. We have an excellent partner there that has been very helpful with setting up merchant accounts for CheddarGetter customers, so if you would like we can put you in contact with him directly as well.

    You will be using the Cheddar Gateway in conjunction with Payvision merchant account. If someone there is telling you otherwise, you should probably talk to our partner there just to clarify.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Can I have Scott Bodily's email please? I'm confused because PayVision has told me they work with banks that provide the merchant accounts. And PV is only the gateway.

    No problem, I added Scott Bodily ([email blocked]) to this discussion so he can follow up with you directly.

    Scott, Jefri has been in touch with Payvision and needs some clarification.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Jefri,

    There are a number of setups we provide for our merchants. The majority of our merchants use another gateway. In the rare instance where a partner like CG isn't involved and we deal with the merchant directly they use our gateway. It is not required to use our gateway so you can use the CG gateway.

    As Adam stated, we can't determine your pricing until we understand your business. We need you to complete the PreCheck form so we can get a quick idea about your business profile, product, website, etc. From the PreCheck we can also figure out which one of our banking partners will fit your needs. Please send me the completed PreCheck and we move forward with a preapproval.

    Feel free to email directly with any questions. My email is [email blocked].

    Kind regards,

    Scott Bodily
    Payvision
