Is there a way to lookup the Description of a Promotion?

So glad you folks implemented Promotions for the Hosted Signup ( I know it was a while ago, but I just noticed!)

We are planning to embed the Promotion code into the url. (OurSite.com/P/Promo_Code)

But when they land our our website with that code we want to confirm for them that it validated "Yes, you have a 1st month free coupon".

Is there a way for our website (php/.js) to lookup the Promo Code and get the Name and Description?
