Testing system integrations
Hi,
I am starting to build some test cases to test the integration between our application and Cheddar Getter. I would like to incorporate some tests where I cycle recurring charges through to Authroize.net. However, I see the most frequent recurring charge is 1 week.
Is there any way I can force a cycle to daily so I can play with recurring charges? I want to see this stuff work before I release it to my live system, and I don't want to wait a week for a test to cycle.
Thanks,
Sue.

We could set your plans to daily for you but we would have to evaluate how broken the interface would get. You certainly wouldn't be able to further modify your plans without setting them back to one of the options in the dropdown.

Are you saying that manually setting this would break the UI to the
point that I might be introducing more potential issues? I don't
necessarily need to modify the plans once they are set up, but I would
like to force the system to cycle the recurring payments faster so I
can expose any issues with our plan models.
Better yet, if you could allow access to the "next Charge Date" field
during testing it would be much better. That way I can really get
fancy with my tests by creating realistic user cases over a period of
2 or 3 days.
Just curious... no one has asked for this before? I find it hard to
believe that no one would want to really pound on this before
implementing their charge scenarios into a live system.

We have a patch ready that will enable daily plans for you. We'll deploy that patch and assuming all goes well with your tests, we'll write a few regression tests for daily scenarios in the future and deploy it for everyone.
Yeah, folks have asked for more control over billing frequencies in the past but they've made due with weekly. We've also heard requests to change the next bill date. That's probably going to be included in our next release which should be done soon. That feature is really meant to support migrations from other subscription billing systems.
FYI, currently bills only run once each day in the morning so if you have a billing date of tomorrow at 2, it wont actually run until Thursday morning. We're keeping it daily for now so we can keep the eagle eye on the transactions and make sure everything is cool. Soon we'll be running it more often. Hourly maybe.
