My business is not based in the USA

I just tried to set up a payment gateway and it looks like I can't do it if my business is not based in the USA?

Is this the case? Any way around it?

Can I use the invoicing portion without the gateway? The invoices are just as useful to us as the actual gateway.

i.e. we'd handle billing our customers but CheddarGetter would handle all the accounting etc

Thanks,
Matthew

You can use CG without a gateway.

Soon we'll have support for non-US merchant accounts, gateways and currencies.

So even though it says "testing" I can still use it just as I normally would if I had a gateway set up?

I would then just pull the invoice data & use that for billing until you have non USA support?

BTW will that include non-US currency support?

    Thanks,
    Matthew

Yeah -- That will work just fine. The "testing" just means that you don't have a gateway configured. You'll have to use a fake credit card for all customers because CG requires a credit card for a paid plan.

Once you're able to implement a gateway, how do you plan to populate your customers' subscriptions with their real credit card information? You'll probably want to give that some thought. Right now, the only way to store this information in CG is via an Authorize.Net gateway account. You could just request a developer's account and use it. Then when you switch to a real account, we can transfer the cc data over.

    Sure will!

Can you explain this option to me in a bit more detail please:

CG does not store your customers' credit card numbers directly. Currently, the Authorize.Net CIM is used to store this information at Authorize.Net which maintains the data in a PCI compliant manner.

You could use an authnet "testing" account to do this. It's a bit hacky to use a testing account for this purpose but it's an option. You might be able to get a live authnet account that only includes the CIM feature. Another option would be to store the credit card data yourself.

Are you still looking for a subscription billing service? I know it's been a long time but we now support currencies and an international merch account/gateway.
