Reactivation Problem
Hello,
I am a developer from Put.io and we are having difficult time with one thing.
Let's say we have 2 plans. A free plan and a premium plan. A user is subscribed to premium plan and at the end of the month he doesn't have enough credits on his paypal. CG retries a few times and cancels the subscription. User then decides that he wants to continue using the service with the free plan (or any other plan). At this point, CG asks the user to reactivate his account first but most of the times this is an unnecessary step. We also can't downgrade the user manually as since the account is cancelled it should be reactivated first.
This goes from asking paypal approval from free users to subscribing users first to more expensive plans that they don't want. For example, user accidentally buys a $50 plan while he only wants a $10 plan having $10 on his bank account. When this happens CG can't withdraw the $50 and cancels the subscription and user has to reactivate that subscription before switching to $10 one.
So how should we go about this? Create a new subscription? delete the user account and re-create it?
Please let me know if there is anything unclear.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Kutay -- The workaround right now is as you suggest: Delete and recreate the account when you don't want to reactivate the subscription.
Soon, we'll be making some changes to CG to enable you to reactivate some other way. We haven't quite decided the best way to do that yet. It'll probably mean "waiving" the outstanding invoice by crediting the entire thing. This would be registered as revenue and credits. Then, the account would be reactivated and you would be able to switch plans or do whatever you like. The key is that, in it's current state, CG insists that the customer owes you for an outstanding invoice once it's bill date has passed.

Hi Kutay -- In case you weren't aware, it's now possible to waive an invoice, then transact it for $0. This effectively can be used to reactivate a canceled subscription.
