E00039:A duplicate customer payment profile already exists.
We are seeing this error more and more in the CG error logs:
The record already exists
E00039:A duplicate customer payment profile already exists.
message:
This is typically a result of calling
/customers/edit/
to change a free customer into a
paying customer. It doesn't happen all of the time, but for some
customers (e.g. our u_391942
) it prevents them from
becoming paying customers. This is bad.
The CG API response seems to not have useful information. The
auxCode
and message are both empty.
Why is this happening, what does it mean, and what can we (or you) do about it? We are losing paying customers.

Dan -- The Authorize.Net CIM integration is now duplicate tolerant. You should never again receive a duplicate error.
