Why initial bill date doesn't work when updating subscription to a paid plan with immediate first bill?

I'm trying to switch the user from the free plan to a paid plan with immediate first bill and want to provide the delay with the initial bill date option. It doesn't work for me. Why?

And what is the trialDays parameter? When it's not zero?

    Hi Alexei!

Currently the initial bill date delay is only available when creating a new customer. You can work around this problem by deleting and adding the customer again under the new (paid) plan.

Alternatively, you may wait a short time until we release an upgrade currently in development which will enable changing the next bill date in existing subscriptions. It's currently slated as the next feature for production release. The current goal is by the end of this week.

And what is the trialDays parameter? When it's not zero?

This is a deprecated parameter and remains in the XML for backward compatibility.
