Hello,

I had founded a wine subscription e-commerce in Brazil and we are facing trouble to run it. Can CheddarGetter help our business with the subscription managment? http://vinhosrecomendados.com.br/clube-do-vinho

Today we are using PayPal HTML button to collect recurring payment, but as the whole process occurs outside the e-commece platform, this method is inefficient. To make it more satisfactory we would need the features bellow. Does you service fit our business needs?

1) Automated transational e-mails
2) Automated account generation in our platform (Magento)
3) Coupons / discounts
4) Upgrade / downgrade to different plans
5) Integration with a Brazilian gateway (just PayPal express is supported in Brazil)
6) Front-end translation to Portuguese

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Felipe Perlino

    Hello Felipe,

All of your requirements are possible using our API:
    https://cheddargetter.com/developers

You could do some of those things without development/coding, but not all of them. For example, if you want to generate an account in Magento when a customer signs up, or have any of the sign-up/payment forms in Portuguese, you would be required to develop a solution using our API.

    Thanks,
    Adam

I also have a question about using CheddarGetter outside of the US. We are based in Canada and will sell only to the Canadian market. We sell three subscription based products.

    1) What would be the optimal e-commerce platform to integrate with cheddar? Magento, Drupal 6 or Big Commerce.
    2) Can we use Cheddar as our payment gateway in Canada?
    3) Do you hold the credit card information on your system?
    4) Can you charge tax rates on subscription by region(ie province in Canada)
    5) Can users ugrade/downgrade/cancel subscriptions themselves.

    Let me know. Thanks, Brett

    Hi Brett,

    1. All of those options should work with CheddarGetter. Magento and Drupal are probably the most easily accessible platforms for customization, so I would personally choose one of those.

    2. Yes, we have many Canadian merchants on the Cheddar Gateway.

    3. Our gateway has a secure Customer Vault that stores all credit card data in a PCI compliant location off-site from CheddarGetter.

    4. We do not currently support this. We're in the process of researching the best way to provide this functionality to our customers, possibly using a 3rd party tax service.

    5. Yes, this is possible both through our API and through our Hosted Payment Pages.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    1. With regard to question regarding tax, I imagine Magento will be able to calculate the tax and this will be processed through Cheddar. Is that correct? The issue would only be if the customer changed their subscription from within Cheddar. I just not sure how Magento or Drupal interact with Cheddar? I appreciate the prompt response.

    Cheers, Brett

    Hi Brett,

I'm not really sure how you plan to use Magento (or any other eCommerce platform) in conjunction with CheddarGetter. Can you explain the workflow? How will your customer make a purchase?

CheddarGetter has a robust API that would allow you to access any of the data you send to it, so when a customer makes a change in CheddarGetter, you could send that data to Magento. But there are a lot of moving parts here, so I think it would help if you tried to explain the ideal way you would deal with your customer experience.

    Thanks Adam.

We are currently trying to decide on the best approach from an e-commerce perspective (other even if we need one). We are in Canada and we do need to charge provincial tax on the subscription. We hoping the customer could purchase the subscription and also log into the shopping cart to either upgrade or downgrade or cancel the their subscription. We hoping the billing management system would be updated when this occurred. We are also hoping the billing management system can notify customer of an expiring card etc.

Does that help at all? what approach would you recommend for us to achieve this.

A simple question, but can we use the system in other languages like German, French, Spanish and Italian?

    Hi Valerie,

Yes you can use CheddarGetter in any language you choose. Using our API, you can build your payment forms in any language. And using our email template customizations, you can send automated billing emails in any language you choose.
